TLMN is redeveloping Anandaban Hospital which suffered much damage during the earthquake. TLMN envisions the hospital continuing for several decades as the main leprosy technical referral hospital in Nepal and a global research and training centre for leprosy.
Anandaban aims to recover from the earthquake and redevelop the hospital so its facilities enable it to be a model of good practice for 21st century leprosy care and disability inclusion, ensuring patients in the new 150-bed hospital are comfortable and safe, with the best possible treatment and rehabilitation, at an affordable cost to the poor.
However, in order to improve sustainability and continue to be relevant to the local community, Anandaban also aims to expand its services to include a trauma and rehabilitation centre, and mother and child unit.
Anandaban Hospital
